Citzen Kane

I really liked Citizen Kane, I thought the film was well put together. You could see in the film  the director had a stage back ground in the way he used the lighting on the actors showing one in heavy light and another in dark. A good example of his usage of lighting would be in one scene Kane is shown in half light and half dark showing his inner turmoil between good and evil. Also I enjoyed the film style starting with the beginning and death of Kane. And how each charter had their own stories of Kane told from their perspective. One scene in particular was when one of Kane's closest friends is viewing the opera debut of Kanes wife. He is in the audience with the crowd, and the screen shots are from his perspective. Later in the movie you see the same scene from Kane’s wife’s perspective. His view seems to show her as a horrible singer portraying a farce. However from her perspective she is being hustled around obviously not comfortable in the situation, but trying her best to handle it. In this film there are many other situations like this where the director films and the actors act according to the perspective of the interviewee keeping us deciding our own opinion of Kane.
